![]() CADopia enters into strategic partnership with SolidWorks Corporation Delivers DWGEditor™ for SolidWorks® 2005 software; plans to integrate eDrawings™ and Toolbox into its product line San Diego, California, November 16, 2004 - CADopia announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with SolidWorks Corporation to develop solutions for helping 2D users embrace 3D mechanical design software. Under the agreement, CADopia will now incorporate SolidWorks eDrawings and Toolbox into CADopia IntelliCAD. "As a successful provider of 2D CAD solutions, our strengths are complementary to the 3D expertise of SolidWorks," said Surya Sarda, president and CEO of CADopia. "The eDrawings and Toolbox products from SolidWorks fill important gaps in our product offerings. In addition, CADopia will support the SolidWorks DWGEditor on an on-going basis and work on custom enhancements for the tool as well." "CADopia has proven to be a very dependable partner," said Chris Garcia, vice president of research and development for SolidWorks Corporation. "CADopia delivered the DWGEditor capability on time, within budget, and with custom enhancements designed to meet the needs of SolidWorks customers." SolidWorks 2005 includes the DWGEditor feature as a part of its core functionality. The DWGEditor gives users the ability to edit 2D DWG and DXF files in their native format using an AutoCAD®-like interface. The tool is ideal for design engineers who use 3D design software, but need to periodically maintain legacy 2D designs. The DWGEditor feature is based on CADopia IntelliCAD. CADopia IntelliCAD is a powerful CAD solution for engineers, architects, designers, and drafters - virtually anyone who creates, edits, or views professional drawings. It offers a high degree of compatibility with popular CAD systems and supports DWG as its native file format. CADopia IntelliCAD can be customized using Lisp, Microsoft VBA, and SDS (Solution Development System). CADopia IntelliCAD is available in three editions - Standard, Premium, and Professional. An educational version of the product is also available. About SolidWorks Corporation SolidWorks Corporation, a Dassault Systèmes S.A.
